How does your ideal morning look?

it looks like … getting up early, doing yoga in the yard with the birds chirping all around. spending time pulling weeds and talking to my plants and local foraging friends. having a nice CannaCoffee, then making breakfast in bed for my kids.

i would like to be able to do all that before my children wake up. i would like them to spend an hour eating their breakfast, so i could clean up all the things to be ready for the day.

oh and after all that … i would spend the remaining couple of hours of the morning just playing with my babies. they aren’t babies anymore. either of them. but i would spend every hours of every day for the rest of my life just playing with them, if i could.

When was the last time you surprised yourself?

… last month …

when i bought an entire emotional regulation curriculum and all of the supplemental materials that are suggested and set it up into the lessons it is meant to be presented as.

i rarely, if ever, ascribe to an actual set therapeutic standard. i prefer, usually, to take bits and pieces from a bunch of approaches that i find to be beneficial. but i read this one, and some of the supplemental materials, and i figured … it’s actually exactly the kind of thing i usually do. mix and match from a bunch of things to reinforce a subject.

so … it took me about ten days but i gathered all the materials up and am setting it into motion not only for my son, but as a teaching strategy for the kids i work with as well.

How important is it to follow trends?

well, i mean …

um …

it’s like …

important. but not to me.

i mean … it’s like part of my disability that i don’t care about or notice fads/trends. i don’t participate is socially normative constructs. unless there is a sense/purpose to them.

and, more than not noticing … i actually often find the trends/fads that others participate in to be absolutely stupid. not kidding. the eyebrow blading thing, for example … stupid. the fake eyelashes … stupid. dudes in lift shoes … stupid. tiktok leggings … stupid. tiktok itself … stupid.

now, that is different, i think, than wearing what is comfortable for you. a lot of people can have like … a “look” … i know a ot of girls who like the whole 50s pinup style, for example, and it’s not only super hot on them but also it seems to be how they are comfortable. that kind of thing, i am all for.

but following trends … no … i do NOT think that’s important.
