a better world for my children.
a place where my daughter isn’t judged and persecuted for every choice she makes because she has a vagina. and, similarly, a world where my son is not presumed to be, somehow, privileged, because he is a white boy.
it’s funny…. these two ends of the spectrum i have. one who may be dismissed because she is “just a girl.” and one who may be presumed to have had a charmed existence, the world as his oyster, or something … and yet … the opposite is the truth for both.
i hope i leave them a better world than i grew up in.
